Cal State East Bay is offering classes in Pashto and Dari, the two official languages of Afghanistan, for the first time this Fall Quarter. The beginning classes will be held as follows:

-- MLL 3999-01 Elementary Pashto I, MW 6 p.m. to 7:50 p.m.
-- MLL 3999-02 Elementary Dari I, MW 6 p.m. to 7:50 p.m.
Plus 1 hour of language practice in the lab before or after class

CSUEB students and community members are invited to enroll.

The university plans to offer additional classes in the Winter and Spring, followed by an intensive Summer Immersion experience in 2011 at the intermediate language level. By completing these courses, students will gain professional-level language and culture skills appropriate for working in cross-cultural settings where these languages are spoken.
